Guide for Manuscript Preparation

Manuscript, ready for printing, should be sent to Editor-in-Chief by e-mail.
After acceptance, the authors will be asked to transfer copyright of the article to the Publisher.

Manuscript
The preferred manuscript length for original studies is up to 12 pages B5 (17.6 x 25.0 cm), but longer texts are also acceptable. The text should be prepared in a print-ready form, with tables and figures included in the body of the manuscript. The manuscript should be written in English using the Word editor, according to the guidelines in the appendix, a condensed version of which is provided below.

The manuscript should be typed in Times New Roman font, 10 pt throughout, with line spacing exactly 1.04 pt. Bottom and top margins 2 cm, left and right 25 mm, no binding margin.

A TITLE It should be concise, but specific enough to attract the attention of the readers to whom the article is addressed.
It should be written with CAPITAL LETTERS, 14 pt, bold.
Author (authors, name and surname) along with the address(es) of their institution (Faculty, University/Unit, Street 99, XX-XXX City, Country) (bold, 12 pt) and ORCID identification number. Corresponding author should be marked with an asterisk. Affiliation should be written in italic (10 pt).

Abstract: Each paper must be preceded by an abstract presenting the most important results and conclusions in no more than 100-150 words (10pt, italic single line spacing). The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references. We strongly encourage authors to use the following style of structured abstracts, but without headings: (1) Background: Place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study; (2) Methods: briefly describe the main methods or treatments applied; (3) Results: summarize the article’s main findings; (4) Conclusions: indicate the main conclusions or interpretations.
Keywords: provide 4 to 6 keywords specific to the article yet reasonably common within the subject discipline

1. Introduction: The Introduction should state the aim and purpose of the research work and provide a brief review of the pertinent literature. The main aim of the work should be clearly stated. As far as possible, please keep the introduction comprehensible to scientists outside your particular field of research.

2. Materials and Methods: The Materials and Methods section should provide sufficient information to permit the replication of the experimental work. Please note that the publication of your manuscript implies that you must make all materials, data, computer code, and protocols associated with the publication available to readers. Add subsections if needed.
New methods and protocols should be described in detail; well-established methods can be briefly described and properly cited.
Interventional studies involving animals or humans, as well as other studies that require ethical approval, must list the authority that provided approval and the corresponding ethical approval code.

3. Results and Discussion: The section should precisely describe the research results in the form of tables or figures. The discussion should interpret the results in relation to other studies. This section may be divided by subheadings.

4. Conclusions: Summary of key findings and draw the main conclusions.

5. Acknowledgements: Written in italic. Acknowledgements and/or funding can be provided in this section. Remove this section or add “This research was funded by NAME OF FUNDER, grant number XXX”.

6. Author Contributions For research articles with multiple authors, a brief paragraph outlining their individual contributions must be included. The following statements should be used “Conceptualisation, X.X. and Y.Y.; methodology, X.X.; software, X.X.; validation, X.X., Y.Y. and Z.Z.; formal analysis, X.X.; investigation, X.X.; resources, X.X.; data curation, X.X.; writing—original draft preparation, X.X.; writing—review and editing, X.X.; visualisation, X.X.; supervision, X.X.; project administration, X.X.; funding acquisition, Y.Y. All authors have read and agreed to the published version of the manuscript.” Please turn to the CRediT taxonomy for the term explanation. Authorship must be limited to those who have contributed substantially to the work reported.

7. References Includes only cited works.
References should be numbered in order of appearance and indicated by a numeral or numerals in square brackets - e.g., [1] or [2, 3], or [4–6, 8]. We recommend preparing the references using a bibliography software package, such as EndNote, Reference Manager, or Zotero, to avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references. Include the digital object identifier (DOI) for all references where available. Provide Sentence Case format for article and chapter titles.

For bibliography software, please apply the style provided for the Journal by
a) searching in citation styles database (Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives),
b) uploading the style directly from the source:

Figures: Refer to each figure in the text (example: Figure 1, Figures 2 and 3, etc). Ensure that all images are in a ready-to-print version with a resolution of at least 600 dpi and PNG, JPEG, or TIFF formats. The text should remain legible when reduced. There should be no editable parts in the images (figures are placed as non-editable figures, not as objects).
Provide single line spacing before the figure and after the figure caption.
Copyright: Reprinted/adapted figures or tables may have copyright issues. Whether copyright permission is required and should be obtained will need to be determined. Please add the corresponding copyright-related content in the caption if required.

Tables: Refer to each table in the text (example: Table 1, Tables 2 and 3, etc.). Provide single line spacing before the table caption and after the table. Please use Times New Roman, 10-point font, line spacing 1.04, with 1-point spacing before and after the table text. Use a dot as the decimal separator.
Identify each table with a heading, reference (if applicable), and footnotes in lowercase superscript letters or asterisks.
Suppose the table content does not fit within the page width, and it is essential to present all data in a single unified table. In that case, it is permissible, in exceptional cases, to display the table in a rotated format without changing the page orientation. Please ensure that the table, including its header, fits on a single page.

Formula charts and Schemes: Please use either the Microsoft Equation Editor or the MathType add-on. Equations should be numbered, editable by the editorial office and not appear in a picture format.
The text following an equation does not need to be in a new paragraph. Please punctuate equations as regular text.
All symbols used must be explained.

Acronyms/Abbreviations/Initialisms should be defined the first time they appear in each of three sections: the abstract, the main text, and the first figure or table. When defined for the first time, the acronym/abbreviation/initialism should be added in parentheses after the written-out form.

Polymer Nomenclature: Authors are highly encouraged to follow the "IUPAC Guidelines for Polymer Nomenclature" when naming and drawing polymers.

Units: SI Units (International System of Units) should be used. Imperial, US customary, and other units should be converted to SI units whenever possible.

Revision of papers: All articles are subject to single-blind peer review. Authors must respond to reviewer comments. Rejected manuscripts may be resubmitted with revisions.

After acceptance: Corresponding author will be asked to sign a Statement and transfer of copyrights.
